Term vs. Whole Life Insurance: Which Fits Your Needs?

Start with the people who depend on you and a premium you can maintain. Understand the coverage, cost and commitment before choosing.

Term life insurance

Covers a specified period. It generally offers a lower initial premium for the same death benefit and does not build cash value.

Ask when the term ends, what renewal would cost, and whether a conversion option is available.

Whole life insurance

A form of permanent coverage with cash value and typically higher premiums than term for the same death benefit. Keeping it in force requires meeting the policy’s terms.

Ask which premiums and values are guaranteed. Dividends on participating policies are not guaranteed.

Compare the promises and the commitments.

Neither type is the right fit for everyone. A review can end with keeping your current coverage.

Bring your questions. Keep control of the choice.

Request a no-charge insurance conversation. Policy premiums and applicable charges still apply; Padua may receive an insurer commission if you buy coverage.
